EastEnders Emmerdale Coronation Street Hollyoaks Neighbours spoilers w/c Monday July 8
The shocks and surprises are aplenty in another must-see week in soap! (Picture: BBC / ITV / Lime Pictures / Amazon Freevee)

The soaps serve up the high drama we all know and love next week, as confirmed in my new spoilers, with a number of death twists on the horizon, plus a few unexpected developments thrown in too.

Coronation Street delivers the shocks as poor Roy Cropper is attacked by a group of thugs on the way home and, later, he’s rushed to hospital, where he receives a surprise visitor.

The question is: just who is it that pays him said visit?

Emmerdale, meanwhile, sees Matty Barton fighting for his life after an inmate discovers that he’s trans, with new cellmate Les nowhere to be found at the time of the altercation.

Will Matty be okay?

Over in EastEnders, Billy Mitchell makes a game-changing discovery courtesy of Stevie, while Hollyoaks legend Ste Hay’s big day in court arrives – and let’s just say it doesn’t end as you might’ve imagined it would!

The shocks continue on Ramsay Street too, with more information revealed about the mysterious Logan and what it is that he’s up to in another unmissable week for Neighbours.

For all this and more I’m your guy, with a first look and very detailed breakdown of what’s in store in soapland next week so shall we make a start?

EastEnders

1. Billy prepares to throw a party for Stevie, telling Will that he shared the same birthday as his long-lost mum Val. Teddy, meanwhile, pleads with Stevie to stop lying, with Phil overhearing the conversation and doing some digging. With Phil piling on the pressure, Stevie musters up the courage to tell Billy that his mum is dead. Billy and Teddy are both left reeling, while Phil urges Billy to see sense over who Stevie really is. Stevie is left with little choice but to say his goodbyes.

2. Denzel avoids school in the wake of Nugget’s hospitalisation, and he starts to experience pains. Howie berates him for skipping school while Amy gives him a reality check over how he’s treated her the past few months.

3. Yolande receives a visit from Levi, who tells her that the CPS have charged Pastor Clayton with two counts of sexual assault. Denzel incorrectly assumes that Levi is there to see him, with Yolande deciding to tell him the truth about Pastor Clayton as she implores the teen to accept help.

4. Ian’s behaviour is the subject of much speculation as he lies about where he’ll be the following day. Cindy and Peter do some digging, with Ian claiming that he’s running for council again, but this proves to be a lie. The question is: just what is Ian hiding?

5. Bobby makes it quite clear that he’s not in the mood to celebrate his 21st birthday, telling Anna and Freddie that he doesn’t want a fuss. Peter attempts to talk him round, but will he succeed?

6. Reiss gets a call saying Debbie’s care fees are three months overdue and, with his stress levels sky high, he decides to rent the spare room. Sonia, however, puts a stop to such an idea, with Reiss later receiving an offer from Sharon, who throws him a lifeline. But Reiss is wracked with guilt when he uses some creative accounting to line his own pockets.

Coronation Street

7. Roy is confronted by a gang as he collapses to the floor. Carla comes to his aid but it’s clear that he’s in pain and, later, an ambulance is summoned to the cafe, where paramedics perform CPR. Once in hospital, Roy receives a mysterious visitor, with Nina believing that he’s hallucinating. The question is: was he really? And just who was it that he saw?

8. Maria is stunned to get a letter saying Mason is due to be released from prison. She heads to the police station to ask some questions, unaware that Gary is there – with Sarah providing his bank statements. As Gary comes out of the interview room Maria demands to know what is going on. Will Gary come clean?

9. Leanne tells Nick she is going to spend the day looking after Toyah but when Rowan calls asking her to attend the taster session for new recruits Toyah offers to go with her. As they arrive at the hotel, Leanne is delighted to see Amy amongst the attendees.

10. Betsy suggests to Carla that she might like to employ her full time. Carla, however, gives her short shrift, leaving Betsy annoyed.

Emmerdale

11. Matty is feeling more at ease now that cellmate Les has accepted him as a trans man. He relays this to Amy, who is relieved. Amy brings with her good news too as she confirms that they’ve got a new solicitor who could get him out but things are complicated when Robbo approaches Amy. Assuming Robbo to be Les, Amy inadvertently reveals the truth to the prisoner, who later confronts Matty alone in his cell.

12. Moira is seething to learn that Samson and Josh are intent on leaving for their European trip. She vows to stop the pair but Sam once again defends his son’s innocence. Lydia, however, starts to suspect that Samson might not have told the truth after all and therefore she meets with Moira.

13. Evan spits up his medication under Billy’s care, which Dawn blames him for. Feeling low, Billy goes out for a drink with Nate, who’s forced to help him return to Home Farm, which ultimately breaks the social distancing bubble. Kim covers when Dawn questions her husband but Evan is subsequently rushed to hospital.

14. Rose comes to the rescue in organising a birthday party for Clemmie – but Kim is not invited! Afterwards, she meets with Ruby, telling her she wants out of the deal but Ruby remains insistent on her taking down Kim once and for all.

15. Laurel recovers in hospital but she worries that her decision to split from Jai hasn’t sunk in with him yet.

Hollyoaks

16. Ste’s sentencing looms and, at a barbecue, he breaks down to Tony, Leela and his loved ones, sharing his fear of prison. Cindy isn’t pleased with the fanfare but Ste is focused on James as – wanting his hubby to have a life without him – he takes off his ring. James is heartbroken and, on the morning of court, Ste takes his frustrations out on Lucas and Leah. In the dock, Ste is stunned when the judge declares the conviction unsafe. Ste is therefore released!

17. Cleo is the subject of much concern for the McQueens, who fear that she’s relapsed. John Paul’s direct approach causes a scene in front of Abe, who suggests to Cleo that they get their own flat. But will Cleo be further isolated from her loved ones by controlling Abe?

18. Warren is shocked to hear Ste got off his sentence and believes it’s part of the vendetta against him as he comes to realise the village is unsafe for him, Mercedes and the twins. Zoe asks after a gangster named ‘Blue’, who has been missing since 2017. The dates tie in with Freddie’s prison stint.

19. Maxine is not impressed that Sienna is supporting Jeremy. Liberty has started a hanging basket business and ropes in her sisters to help. Gardener Jez is on board but his presence and resemblance to Patrick makes Maxine jumpy and when she trips and he grabs her she freaks out.

20. Lucas books a holiday for him and Dillon but they can only afford the deposit. In a bid to raise some cash, the couple try to start a business in the park – but Tom tells them off as they haven’t got a permit.

Neighbours

21. Before Leo gets the opportunity to warn her, Nicolette arrives at the vineyard with Byron, coming face-to-face with Kiri for the first time in a very long time. Things are tense between the former flames, especially when each of them realise that an offer has been made by the other to buy into the vineyard!

Logan watches Melanie from behind in Neighbours

22. Logan continues to win over Aaron, with the two bonding quite a bit, which is aided by the fact that Logan makes a positive impression on Isla. Aaron donates David’s clothes to the foundation but comes to regret it, but it’s too late as someone has already purchased them. The buyer is none other than Logan, who tries them on in secret.

23. Wendy burns the candle at both ends. Although she tells Andrew that her uni friends know she’s in a different stage to life than them, she takes on a secret life while at campus, dressing in more youthful clothes and make-up. Later, Wendy sees Cara at uni, and both women end up bonding.

24. Nell misconstrues Dex’s romantic hints as friendship. JJ becomes his brother’s advisor in the lead up to the ‘date’, but things don’t pan out, with the sunroom – which Dex has set up as the venue – suddenly collapsing!

25. Remi approaches Jane to see if there’s anything that can be done to undo JJ’s expulsion from Erinsborough High. Jane fears there’s nothing – but, knowing how well JJ has done in turning his life around, she comes up with a plan.
