“The way the tracks are listed in this playlist is like an emotional roller coaster,” Fabio Asher tells Apple Music of his special selection for In My Room. “Each track represents the ups and downs of my emotions and feelings when I’m by myself.” The fact that his day-to-day seems to involve such a searingly emotive journey should go some way to explain how he was able to turn his album EVERLAST into such a thrillingly multifaceted experience, one that taps into both the dramas and the subtleties of everyday life. “I hope the songs in EVERLAST can continue to accompany listeners through different phases of their lives,” he says. “And, hopefully, EVERLAST can be enjoyed by music fans from various genres.” Asher’s playlist reflects that notion, taking in a range of styles including R&B, balladry—which inspired his ode to his late mother, “Tersisa Rindu”—and K-pop, from which he took inspiration for the arrangement on “Sorry Baby”.
