Iceboy Violet

Manchester-based rapper and producer Iceboy Violet creates a singular form of poetic, abstract music influenced by grime, ambient, and noise. Debuting in 2018 with the abrasive mixtape MOOK, the artist appeared on releases by Loraine James and 96 Back, and released The Vanity Project in 2022, featuring collaborations with artists like Space Afrika and Slikback. The self-produced album Not a Dream But a Controlled Explosion appeared in 2023, and You Said You'd Hold My Hand Through the Fire, a collaboration with Nueen, was issued by Hyperdub in 2024.
