PLUS Malaysia (PLUS) is the largest expressway service provider in Malaysia and one of the largest in South East Asia. PLUS is the expressway arm of UEM Group is the largest highway operator in Malaysia and has been operating the country’s toll roads since 1988. PLUS operates and maintains almost 1,000 kilometres of expressways stretching from the border of Thailand in the North to the border of Singapore in the South as well as on the East Coast. The expressway connects major industrial, commercial and transportation centres, links major seaports and airports and provide easy access that led to the development of many townships and industrial centres.

    PLUS was invited to the Asset Management Roundtable Series (AMRS) 2024/2025, organized by the Malaysian Asset & Project Management Association (MAPMA) and hosted by UEM Edgenta. The AMRS, a dynamic platform to foster collaboration and drive innovation among industry leaders, was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Works, YB Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad Bin Haji Maslan. The event was graced by the presence of Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA), YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Sazali Harun, PLUS Managing Director, YBhg. Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, PLUS Chief Operating Officer and the President of The Association of Highway Concessionaires Malaysia (PSKLM), YBhg. Datuk Ir. Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi and several industry leaders. During the session, YBhg. Datuk Nik shared insights and best practices on asset management, inspiring practitioners to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices within their operations and maintenance programs. She highlighted the successful implementation of PLUS’ Green Roadmap, driving energy efficiency practices, harnessing renewable energy, embedding circular economy principles and supporting the nation’s transition towards low-carbon lifestyle. PLUS Chief Governance & Risk Officer, Mr. Satpal Singh Dhillon took the stage during the open-floor Q&A where he stressed the importance of leveraging on ESG as a strategic tool for organizations to optimize costs, strengthen efficiency and support national aspirations.

    On World Environment Day, we raised consciousness on  Forest Conservation & Environmental Awareness aiming to foster greater commitment to environmental sustainability, and recognize those who have contributed to its preservation and conservation.                                                                        Our exciting event featured exhibitions from Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), PERHILITAN, Eats, Shoots & Roots, Little Eden Succulents, and the Orang Asli Temuan community. Our special guest Mr. Shahfiz Azman, conducted a talk on the importance of conserving biodiversity and potential collaboration opportunities with PLUS.                                                                             The event was graced by Managing Director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar alongside Mr. Satpal Singh Dhillon where the initiatives taken by PLUS to preserve our country’s natural environment were also shared. The event was also attended by PLUS Senior Management, PLUS Personnel and children of PLUS’ Child Development Center.   Together, lets shape a safe & sustainable future for all. #MyPLUS #WorldEnvironmentDay

    World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5th, raises awareness about environmental issues and promotes action starting from the individual, community, and the Organisation in protecting and preserving the environment.   In conjunction with World Environment Day 2024, PLUS organised a one-day event called “Kempen Pemuliharaan Hutan & Kesedaran Alam Sekitar.” The event aimed to promote environmental education and awareness, provide a platform for the #MyPLUS team to foster a greater commitment to environmental sustainability, and recognize those who have contributed to its preservation and conservation.   The event featured participation from "Gerai Kelestarian" booths by the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), PERHILITAN, Eats, Shoots & Roots, Little Eden Succulents, and the Orang Asli Temuan community. Additionally, a special guest from FRIM conducted a talk on conserving biodiversity along the expressways operated by PLUS.   The event was also attended by PLUS management, including our Managing Director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar, Chief Governance and Risk Officer Satpal Singh Dhillon, and Chief People Officer Pn. Shazalina Ahmad   Remember, environmental conservation is not a one-day event but a lifelong commitment.
