Torpes

The glamorous French city of San Tropez gets its name from Saint Torpes, a martyr from Pisa whose headless body was set afloat in a boat with a dog and a rooster, according to legend. When the boat washed up in southern France, the saint's body was still intact.

Saint Tropes is the patron saint of sailors.
