!Interpret data with caution. The coefficient of variation (CV) for this estimate is between 30 and 50 percent.
‡Reporting standards not met. Either there are too few cases for a reliable estimate or the coefficient of variation (CV) is 50 percent or greater.
1 Includes persons reporting Pacific Islander alone, persons reporting American Indian/Alaska Native alone, and persons of Two or more races.
2 High school completers include those with a high school diploma as well as those with an alternative credential, such as a GED.
NOTE: The survey asked about children enrolled in kindergarten through grade 12 in public schools and private schools as well as homeschooled students with a grade equivalent to these grades. Data in this table are considered experimental and do not meet NCES standards for response rates. The 2020 Household Pulse Survey, an experimental data product, is an Interagency Federal Statistical Rapid Response Survey to Measure Household Experiences during the coronavirus pandemic conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau in partnership with seven other agencies from the Federal Statistical System: Bureau of Labor Statistics, National Center for Health Statistics, Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service, National Center for Education Statistics, Department of Housing and Urban Development, Social Security Administration, and Bureau of Transportation Statistics. The number of respondents and response rate for each period reported in this table are as follows: April 23-May 5: 74,413 and 3.8 percent; June 4-June 9: 83,302 and 3.1 percent; July 2-July 7: 90,767 and 3.2 percent; September 2-September 14: 110,019 and 10.3 percent; September 30-October 12: 95,604 and 8.8 percent; November 11-November 23: 71,939 and 6.6 percent; December 9-December 21: 69,944 and 6.5 percent. The final weights are designed to produce estimates for the total persons age 18 and older living within housing units. These weights were created by adjusting the household level sampling base weights by various factors to account for nonresponse, adults per household, and coverage. For more information, see https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/household-pulse-survey/technical-documentation.html. Race categories exclude persons of Hispanic ethnicity.
