Global stock markets drop sharply amid fears of US recession

The UK's FTSE 100 has been falling and was down by more than 3%. The FTSE 250 also dropped in early trading and had fallen 4%. Other exchanges in Europe, including in France, Germany, Portugal, and Spain, also dropped between 2% and 4%.
