#SymeresPolls Once upon a time, Daniel Swern discovered a brilliant reaction. Everyone who has ever performed the Swern oxidation knows its unique smell. It's nearly impossible to avoid the odor of dimethyl sulfide (DMS), which is produced in the reaction. Although organoleptic analysis is usually not quantified, the minimum concentration of DMS that humans can detect has been identified. Can you guess what the smallest DMS concentration that we can smell is? Do you need a more precise analysis of your APIs than just an organoleptic one?
