👋 Meet our most recent member of the Competence Centre, Jaswant Singh, Air Technical Manager! He’s excited to join ZDHC as he feels ZDHC is purpose-driven, saving mankind and mother nature from hazardous chemicals and giving him a feeling of being an Earth Warrior. 🌍 ‘Good ideas click in the brain and then vanish, so write them down whenever it comes to your brain.’ 💡 Jaswant’s favourite ZDHC guidelines is ZDHC CMS TIG as he worked implementing this when he worked for suppliers. When Jaswant is not working hard at ZDHC he loves cycling and enjoys spending time with his children! 😃

👋 Meet Dr. Smita Honade Bait, our Fibres and Material Technical Manager. Smita’s favourite part about working for ZDHC is that the guidelines developed assist the fashion industry in its sustainability journey. Including, using safe input chemicals, and materials to produce safe products, ensuring clean output, and minimising harm to life and the environment. Carve your own shape, no hand but your own can shape the path ahead. Smita’s first task at ZDHC was to support the implementation of the MMFC Guidelines, delving deep into understanding all the critical aspects. As a result, the MMCF Guidelines and Modules are her favourites. However, Smita also enjoys working on new guidelines and exploring the chemical management aspects of various other fibre manufacturing and related processes, such as recycled polyester, and pulp manufacturing. Smita loves art and crafts! She spends her free time creating intricate handmade projects that blend creativity and sustainability. 👩🎨 Click the link to hear a bit more from Smita herself: https://lnkd.in/eFxM5Ffm

  • New York State is considering legislation that will set a greater level of sustainability in the fashion industry through the New York Fashion Act. We are pleased to note that the draft bill cites the ZDHC Wastewater Guidelines as a measure of excellence, heightening the benefits of working with ZDHC. If this legislation is passed into law, companies operating in New York will need to take swift action to ensure compliance. This and other legislation make it ever more important for the fashion industry to be proactive, anticipate the future and implement sustainable solutions throughout the value chain. The Transformers Foundation, a ZDHC partner, has recently detailed new and upcoming legal frameworks in the USA, UK and EU. • 👋 Meet Prasad Pant, our Competence Centres Director, who has been part of our organisation for the past 6 years! He is driven by the positive impact he is bringing on the textile and leather industry through his work. Prasad is steering the team to set guidelines and guidance documents as well as engaging with stakeholders in the South Asia region. ‘Keep doing the work that you are passionate about. One day, you will achieve success!’ 🗣 All the ZHDC guidelines and platforms are dear to him, just like his two children!  However, the most impactful guidelines has been the ZDHC MRSL, which has made a paradigm shift towards addressing the root cause of the problem! Prasad's life is not just about ZDHC work! He enjoys writing poetry, can play five musical instruments and sings at stage shows. 😎
