For our global consumers to recognize TOMMY HILFIGER as a unified lifestyle brand, we must offer collections that are connected and add a modern twist to our codes. It’s about being a branded house, rather than a house of brands. To achieve this, I oversee our design vision across Europe and North America, ensuring our designers are inspired, focused and aligned under one creative direction.

Creating great products is a team effort, so I want to gather the genius of our talented designers and leverage their ideas across all divisions. By fostering a culture that encourages associates to collaborate and contribute to different projects, we can all learn from each other’s different perspectives. It’s about becoming a cross-functional community.

As well as being divisionally connected, it’s important to keep our consumers at the core of everything we do. Our ongoing research, from news in the fashion media landscape to consumer insights and street style trends, allows us to understand what they are looking for and provides a clear direction for our kick-off meeting each season. When further developing the seasonal creative direction with our creative directors, we keep our focus tight because creativity thrives with parameters. Limiting the scope leads to inspiring collections.

The biggest lesson I have learnt from working with innovative companies like TOMMY HILFIGER is to keep pushing the boundaries. You find new opportunities by striking the right balance between respecting the past and looking forward, as well as giving the business and designers a voice to lead the company together. Change and innovation gives me energy, and continues to drive our organization to the future.
