Browns clean house with Hue Jackson, Todd Haley as losses mount

The 36th loss was one too many.

The Browns fired coach Hue Jackson on Monday the morning after a 33-18 loss to the Steelers dropped them to 2-5-1, ESPN.com reports. The loss dropped Jackson’s mark in Cleveland to 3-36-1 in two-plus seasons.

Shortly afterward, the Browns also canned offensive coordinator Todd Haley, according to NFL Network. Haley, who was in his first year with the team after six with Pittsburgh, had bickered with Jackson. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was promoted to interim head coach, according to Cleveland.com.

Jackson had one win his first two seasons with the Browns, but this season the team has been competitive nearly each week, only to find new ways to lose.

Jackson’s firing comes one day after their fellow Cleveland residents, the Cavaliers, fired head coach Tyronn Lue.
