The family of a Long Island lawyer who died in a vintage-plane crash last year is suing the aviation company that was recertifying the pilot at the time.
Pilot and plane owner Robert Rosenthal, 63, was flying the Ryan Navion F plane on Feb. 26, 2017, as part of a flight review overseen by another pilot, Arieh Narkunski, 64, of All American Aviation Inc. of Westhampton Beach. Also with the two men was pal Robert Wilkie, 65, a grandfather, tax lawyer and pilot as well.
Wilkie and Narkunski died in the crash.
Wilkie’s family is suing All American and owner Doron Kastoriano, claiming in the suit that they were “negligent . . . in operating the aircraft in a careless and reckless manner.’’
Rosenthal, a Queens lawyer who previously made headlines for defending animals, had been practicing takeoffs and landings on a runway at the Frances A. Gabrelski Airport in Westhampton Beach when the plane crashed.
Wilkie’s family has already separately sued Rosenthal and Narkunski’s estate. Rosenthal declined to comment to The Post on Monday. Kastoriano and All American Aviation could not be reached for comment.
