Teen girl shot in back crossing Bronx street wasn’t target: cops

A 15-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet as she was crossing a Bronx street on Tuesday night, police sources said.

The girl was shot in the back at Manor Avenue and East 173rd Street near the Bronx River Houses in Soundview at about 8:30 p.m., cops said.

After she was shot, she told cops that she heard gunfire and then felt pain directly after, authorities said.

Cops believe the teen was an innocent bystander who was hit accidentally in the shooting, police sources said.

A worker at a nearby deli told The Post that two women who were in tears came running into his shop after the shooting.

“I was working in the back, two ladies came in crying, I tell her ‘what happened?’ She say somebody was shot one block down. I locked the door and wait for cops to come,” the worker, who did not want to give his name, said.

Police later came to his shop to look at surveillance footage of the shooting.

The teen was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to survive, police said.

No arrests have been made, and police are still investigating.
