Wedding guests wore blindfolds as they watched a couple tie the knot – to support a bride who lost her sight at just 27.
Guests at Stephanie Agnew and Robbie Campbell’s wedding in Queensland, Australia, on Sunday wore the blackout masks.
Agnew, 32, lost her sight when she was 27 after suffering cone-rod dystrophy, an inherited eye disorder which impacts the retina.
Whereas she can see some light and dark shades, her mom is totally blind.
The couple wanted their 54 guests to experience the wedding as Agnew and her mom did.
Campbell, speaking to Fabulous Digital, said: “The staff at the venue where we married were amazing and spent a lot of time with Steph describing the visual features of the whole venue.”
“They were instrumental in helping her feel the tactile elements that were a part of the ceremony and reception.”
“We also choose the venue as it was on the same road as Steph’s great aunt’s house because it had the same amazing view over the Glasshouse Mountains that she remembers seeing as a child when she had sight. She was able to picture the view on the day.”
“During the ceremony, it was important to us to include tactile elements. Steph’s bouquet was made up of fragrant flowers and the staff took the time to describe it to her thoroughly.”
“We also had an owl from Raptor Vision fly down the aisle, land on Steph’s arm and deliver the rings.”
Campbell told how the guests were happy to wear blindfolds.

“The day was perfect with the ceremony being the highlight of the day for both Steph and Rob. The celebrant, Jarrad Bayliss, made sure the ceremony was special and memorable with his unique and personal touches.”
