Horrified passenger spots his suitcases left on tarmac before takeoff: ‘I can’t handle this’
An airplane passenger redefined “leaving one’s baggage at the door” after spying his luggage on the runway right before takeoff, as detailed in a series of X posts with millions of views.
“I can’t handle this,” the mortified flyer, named Alberto, wrote while describing the baggage blunder, which occurred earlier this month at Barajas airport in Madrid, Spain, Jam Press reported.
The traveler and his family were waiting for the plane to take off when, to their surprise, he spotted two suitcases sitting on the tarmac.
Initially thinking they belonged to someone else, the bemused Alberto snapped several photos of the lost luggage.

It was only afterward that he realized the horrifying truth.
“I tell my aunt, ‘Look, they dropped two suitcases,’ and she [says], ‘They look like mine and grandma’s,'” he recalled. “Well guess what…”
To make matters worse, one of the bags contained a nearly 5-pound cheese, which he surmised was now “baking” on the tarmac in the 86-degree weather.
X commenters were both amused and appalled by the marooned suitcase debacle.
“It can’t be,” fretted one viewer.
“At least the turbine didn’t swallow them hahaha,” said another.
A third wrote, “I need to know how the story ends help.”
Fortunately, Alberto and his family have since been reunited with their stranded suitcases.
Upon arriving at their destination in La Manga, the airline reportedly delivered them to their address.
“They’re back home,” gushed the grateful traveler on X alongside a pic of the returned bags.
He added in a follow-up post: “And against all odds: the cheese is fine.”
