Amazon Prime now offers medical care — Here’s what it looks like

It’s not a surprise when someone says “Amazon Prime” and we instantly become elated. The retailer — and the retailer’s two-day shipping window that’s a heaven-sent saving grace — has, undeniably, changed our lifestyles for the better.

Now, Jeff Bezos’ checkout-churning corporation has now entered a new sector in the retail service industry. If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you now have access to medical care.

Detailed as “your health, your way” on the newly minted Amazon Health page, you’ll receive on-demand care with One Medical — an extension of your Amazon Prime membership that’s only $9 more to your monthly bill.

Before exploring the ins and outs of Amazon’s convenient medical care service, let’s boil it down for you in simple terms: you must be subscribed to Amazon Prime (sign up HERE). From there, this service is an additional $9 a month, or $99 a year.

As the modern-day approach to medical care, One Medical partners with your insurance — as your in-office doctor would — without the hassle. In other words, you’ll unlock comfortable and convenient care at the push of a button. Not to mention, all those days where you ask yourself, “Should I see a doctor for this?” may now be forgotten.

This service is ideal for any person, any age. Whether you have an immediate concern (though if it’s a dire health emergency, dial 9-1-1) or can’t stop thinking about that one thing that’s been on your mind — don’t fret. One Medical is an extension of Amazon’s product- and service-driven landscape to make it a more well-rounded retailer for not just household items less than $25 or best-selling products to buy as gifts, but for something we prioritize day in and day out: healthcare.


One Medical accepts most major health insurance plans, and you can search for your specific insurance plan directly onsite. You can also receive care through the One Medical app in all 50 states — including Washington, D.C. — which includes 24/7 on-demand video chats and Treat Me Now, both services offered at no additional cost (and, no billing to insurance, either). Simply put, these two services are included in your $9-a-month or $99-a-year opt-in.

With One Medical, you’ll also receive care for everyday concerns, chronic conditions and mental health, among other matters. Despite the quick-touch convenience, you’ll never be rushed; One Medical prides itself on longer appointment times, if needed, so you can have peace of mind that you’re receiving the care you need.

Some of these concerns can be found on the “Now treating” section of the Amazon Health page. These are, but are not limited to, the following: ED; pink eye; cough, cold and flu; UTI and COVID-19.

I’m not a Prime member — can I still purchase a One Medical membership?

If you’re not a Prime member, you can still purchase a One Medical Membership. However, different terms, conditions and pricing may apply.

Is One Medical via Amazon Prime FSA- and HSA- eligible?

Yes, One Medical services are eligible with your company’s FSA and HSA accounts. What does this mean? If you have reserved healthcare spending dollars in advance of 2024 — a use-it-or-lose-it pre-tax fund — any medical care through Amazon’s One Medical partnership is eligible with copays, deductibles and other payments. Just be sure to check that One Medical via Amazon takes your insurance plan.

How do prescription refills work?

In addition to Amazon One Medical, the retailer is offering a new service, RxPass. With this new $5-a-month addition to your existing Prime membership, you’ll have access to deliver more than 50 medications right to your door. Other doctor-prescribed medications may be available for delivery as well.

Can One Medical help manage weight, diabetes and high blood pressure?

Conveniently, One Medical via Amazon assists you in managing your weight, diabetes and high blood pressure, among other health conditions and concerns. With this level of care, there are no out-of-pocket costs. you’ll be required to pay and you can check your insurance coverage to see if you’re eligible for a personalized care team and smart devices to use from your home, like a blood pressure monitor or thermometer.
