After witnessing the suicide of one of his students, the young professor finds his neatly ordered world unraveling. He feels the presence of spirits all around him, trying to communicate as the ugly circumstances of their deaths threaten to suffocate him. Desperate for answers and guided by the tortured spirits that haunt him, he kidnaps his ex-therapist Abigail- a woman he has lingering love for despite her cruelty and manipulation. He learns that the spirits haunting him are also ex-patients of Abigail, all of them seeking revenge on her for her part in their deaths.
