Stenting with PRotruding strut INTo side branch (SPRINT) technique: a novel technique for coronary bifurcation stenting

Catheter Cardiovasc Interv. 2009 Feb 15;73(3):336-43. doi: 10.1002/ccd.21897.

Abstract

A number of stenting techniques have been proposed for optimal treatment of bifurcation lesions. However, the most ideal interventional strategies have yet to be discovered. In bifurcation treatment, procedural complexity and high restenosis rate remain as major obstacles to successful treatment. To resolve these problems, we developed a new technique for bifurcation stenting called Stenting with PRotruding strut INTo side branch (SPRINT). This technique would completely cover the carina with a relatively simple procedure. A novel technique of coronary bifurcation stenting is reported. Here, we report on two successful cases using this novel technique.
