A bis-bisurea receptor with the R,R-cyclohexane-1,2-diamino spacer for phosphate and sulfate ions

Org Biomol Chem. 2012 Nov 28;10(44):8758-61. doi: 10.1039/c2ob26591e.

Abstract

A bis-bisurea receptor (L) based on the R,R-cyclohexane-1,2-diamino scaffold forms an uncommon 2 : 2 complex (1) with the monohydrogen phosphate ion (HPO(4)(2-)) and a 1 : 1 complex (2) with the sulfate ion (SO(4)(2-)). Solution binding properties of the two anions were studied by (1)H NMR, UV-vis, and circular dichroism (CD) methods.
