[Methods for detecting barbiturate poisoning in a clinical laboratory]

J Clin Chem Clin Biochem. 1989 Feb;27(2):53-6.
[Article in German]

Abstract

The detection limits for 23 barbiturates and the main metabolite of phenobarbital were determined in urine, using six different tests: a colorimetric test, TLC and four immunological tests. The precision, duration and costs of the tests were examined, in order to determine their suitability for a clinical laboratory.
