Cancer invasion and metastasis

Hosp Pract (Off Ed). 1993 May 15;28(5):92-6. doi: 10.1080/21548331.1993.11442792.

Abstract

Mechanisms by which primary tumors invade local tissues and spread to distant sites are beginning to be understood. Included are factors involved in cell-to-cell and cell-to-extracellular matrix interactions, motility factors, and genetic controls. Knowledge of such mechanisms is spurring development of novel therapeutic agents for clinical study.
