Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Mike Young, shown in a game last season, has picked up a verbal commitment from high school center Christian Gurdak.
He earned Washington Post All-Metro honorable mention as a junior last season.
Gurdak is the second player in the high school graduating class of 2025 who has committed to coach Mike Young's Hokies. Sin'Cere Jones, a rising senior at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, announced his commitment to the Hokies last month.
