Shenyang is the provincial capital and the largest city in the northeast of China. In the 17th century, Shenyang is the capital of the Manchurian people. Today it is the largest city in the northeast of China. Its area is 12,942km2. Its population is 8,100,000+.

Shenyang is the transport and commercial centre in the northeast of China - especially with Japan, Russia, North Korea and South Korea. Shenyang is the railway center in the northeast of China, eight rail lines go through Shenyang, connecting with Beijing, Dalian, Changchun, Harbin and Fushun.
