49ers' Aaron Banks: Managing back spasms
22m agoBanks is dealing with back spasms but is expected to return to practice "real soon," Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
The injury doesn't appear to be a serious concern for Banks, though it's cost him multiple days of practice. The Notre Dame product's availability for the start of the regular season isn't in question, and he's expected to function as the 49ers' starter at left guard during the 2024 campaign.

Pat Elflein SF C
49ers' Pat Elflein: Signed by 49ers, then gets hurt
1h agoSan Francisco signed Elflein to a contract Friday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports. The offensive lineman then suffered a calf injury in practice, per Kyle Madson of NinersWire.
The 49ers have dealt with multiple injuries to their offensive line in training camp, so Elflein was brought in as veteran depth. However, he wasn't able to make it through individual drills, and head coach Kyle Shanahan said after practice that Elflein pulled his calf. It's not clear how much time the 30-year-old will miss, but San Francisco may now need to bring in another player to reinforce their lineman corps.

Franz Wagner ORL PF
Magic's Franz Wagner: Shines in win over France
2h agoWagner recorded 26 points (8-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 8-8 FT) in Friday's 85-71 win over France.
Wagner continues to thrive for Germany in the Olympics, and he co-led the team in scoring in this huge win against the host nation. Wagner has surpassed the 20-point mark in two of his three Olympic appearances thus far, and he should remain a steady source of offensive stats in the knockout rounds.
-
Dennis Schroder BKN PG
Nets' Dennis Schroder: Goes for 26 points Friday
2h agoSchroder delivered 26 points (10-17 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, nine assists and a steal in Friday's 85-71 win over France.
Schroder co-led the Germans in scoring in the win, as Franz Wagner also delivered 26 points, but he also made his presence felt as a playmaker thanks to his game-high nine assists. Schroder has been nothing short of sensational in the current Olympics run and should be one of Germany's go-to players in the knockout stages.
-
Daniel Theis NO C
Pelicans' Daniel Theis: Comes close to double-double
2h agoTheis finished with seven points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in Friday's 85-71 win over France.
Dennis Schroder and Franz Wagner led the way for Germany in the scoring column, but Theis was impressive in other areas, ultimately finishing just two boards and three points shy of a double-double. Evan Fournier DET SG
Evan Fournier: Scores 10 points in loss to Germany
2h agoFournier had 10 points (2-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), one rebound and one assist in Friday's 85-71 loss to Germany.
Fournier was one of three France players who scored in double digits in this loss, alongside Victor Wembanyama and Isaia Cordinier. Even though the final stat line wasn't exactly eye-popping, it's worth noting Fournier should remain one of France's most reliable offensive weapons in the knockout stages. A strong showing in the Olympics could entice an NBA team to take a gamble on Fournier before the start of training camp.

Victor Wembanyama SA C
Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Double-doubles in Olympic loss
2h agoWembanyama delivered 14 points (5-11 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 12 rebounds, an assist, two steals and a block in Friday's 85-71 loss to Germany.
This was Wembanyama's second consecutive double-double in the Olympics, and he continues to be an absolute threat on both ends of the court for Les Bleus. This was also his third straight game with multiple steals. While the 14-point output was his lowest of the competition, Wembanyama does enough in other categories to remain an excellent fantasy alternative in all formats.
