Cowboys QB Dak Prescott seen in walking boot on vacation; reportedly had 'mild right foot sprain'

Dak Prescott is no longer wearing the walking boot, and he's expected to be fully healthy for Cowboys training camp

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is apparently out of his walking boot.

After photos surfaced of him wearing a walking boot on vacation in Mexico surfaced in recent days, he tried to put the boot rumors to rest with an update on Instagram on Saturday.

Prescott, according to ESPN's Todd Archer, sustained a mild right foot sprain recently. It's unclear when or how that happened, but he was photographed while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, with a walking boot on his right foot.

The tweet, which was posted by Mexican football commentator Juan Carlos Vázquez, says the photo was taken "last weekend."

Despite Vázquez putting a time frame on the photo, ESPN said that "it was unclear when the picture was taken." Archer's source said that Prescott is no longer wearing the walking boot, which he showed off in an Instagram story he posted from Mexico on Saturday while making light of the boot reports.

If the injury did happen before last weekend, we know it happened after June 5, which is when the Cowboys had their last organized workout.

At this time, we still don't know how Prescott sprained his foot. While the cause of his injury isn't clear, ESPN reported that the injury "is not expected" to bother Prescott by the end of the month, when the Cowboys get together for training camp.

Prescott threw for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns last season, his eighth with the Cowboys, while leading them to a 12-5 record and a third straight playoff berth. Prescott doesn't have a contract with the Cowboys past this season as the veteran quarterback seeks a contract extension. This injury isn't the best way to start the season, especially when negotiations could still be ongoing, but we won't know anything until both his feet are on the ground during training camp.
