The Guardians' Jose Ramirez will be taking another shot at a Home Run Derby crown.

It was announced Tuesday afternoon that Ramirez will participate in the 2024 Home Run Derby, which will be held Monday at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Entering Tuesday, Ramirez had 24 home runs, which was tied for fourth in the majors. He's been in the middle of the Guardians' power surge this season, which has lifted Cleveland to first place in the American League Central.

Ramirez also participated in the 2022 Home Run Derby, when he was ousted in the first round by Juan Soto. Ramirez slugged 17 home runs, but it wasn't enough to advance. In that Derby, he swung right-handed.

Last week, Ramirez was named a starter at third base for the American League in the All-Star Game, which will be held the night after the Home Run Derby, along with left fielder Steven Kwan. In total, the Guardians will have five All-Stars, including Emmanuel Clase, Josh Naylor and David Fry.

Who is in the 2024 Home Run Derby?

Ramirez is one of six confirmed participants, along with Pete Alonso, Bobby Witt Jr., Gunnar Henderson, Alec Bohm and Marcell Ozuna. Two more spots still need to be announced.

When is the Home Run Derby? What channel is it on?

The Home Run Derby is set to begin at 8 p.m. Monday, July 18. It will be broadcast on ESPN.
