החתמה חדשה ראשונה לעונה - עירוני ״חי מוטורס״ נס ציונה מודיעה על החתמתו של ראיין טורל לעונת 2024/25. טורל (25, 2.01) המשחק בעמדות הפורוורד, ישחק לראשונה בקריירה מחוץ לארה״ב ומצטרף לסגל של עמית שרף.
טורל התפרסם בארצות הברית כששיחק באוניברסיטת ״ישיבה״ היהודית בניו-יורק, המשחקת בדיוויז׳ן 3 של ליגת המכללות. טורל הוביל את ישיבה לשיא כל הזמנים בליגת המכללות של 50 נצחונות רצופים, מה שהעניק לו חשיפה ברמה הלאומית בארה״ב והוא סומן כמי שיכול להיות היהודי הדתי הראשון ב-NBA.
בארבע עונותיו בישיבה העמיד טורל ממוצעים מרשימים של 24.0 נק׳, 5.7 ריב׳ ו-3.2 אס׳ ו-44.9% ל-3. הוא היה הקלע המוביל בכל המכללות בעונתו האחרונה (27.1 נק׳ למשחק), ונבחר לשחקן העונה בליגת המכללות השלישית.

בהמשך נבחר טורל במקום ה-27 בדראפט הג׳י-ליג - ליגת הפיתוח של ה-NBA. הוא שיחק בשתי העונות האחרונות בקבוצת הפיתוח של דטרויט פיסטונס, שם העמיד בעונה האחרונה ממוצעים של 5.0 נק׳, 2.1 ריב׳ ו-38.5% ל-3 ב-12.1 דקות למשחק. במשחק השיא שלו בג׳י-ליג רשם טורל שיא קריירה של 34 נק׳ ו-6 ריב׳.

Ironi “Hay Motors” Ness Ziona is excited to announce the signing of forward Ryan Turell (25, 2.01m) for the 2024/25 season. This marks Turell’s first professional stint outside the United States, and he is set to bring his skills and experience to coach Amit Sherf’s team.
Turell rose to prominence in the United States while playing for Yeshiva University in New York, competing in NCAA Division 3. He led Yeshiva to a historic 50 consecutive wins, earning national attention and recognition as a potential trailblazer for religious Jewish athletes in the NBA.
Over four seasons at Yeshiva, Turell averaged 24.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, with a 44.9% three-point shooting percentage. During his senior season, the 3-time first-team All American, averaged 27.1 points per game, which led all NCAA divisions in scoring, and was named the D3 National Player of the Year.
Following his collegiate success, Turell was selected 27th in the G-League draft, the NBA’s development league. He spent the last two seasons with the Detroit Pistons’ affiliate team, where he averaged 5.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 38.5% three-point shooting in 12.1 minutes per game. His standout performance in the G-League included a career-high 34 points and 6 rebounds.
Turell will join a strong roster that includes Israeli national team center Itay Segev, who led the league in rebounding last season, guard Yair Kravits, also a national team player, and swingman Tzuf Ben Moshe. Segev and Kravits are entering their second season with Ness Ziona, while for Ben Moshe, this will be his fourth season with the team over two separate stints.
