Fairytales on Stage

The Hippodrome Theatre is excited to announce a new, imaginative class designed to spark creativity and bring stories to life. “Fairytales on Stage” is a class that transforms classic and Sri Lankan fairytales into captivating performances.

This dynamic class offers a unique opportunity for young students to explore the magical world of fairytales through theatre and performance. Under the guidance of experienced theatre instructors, participants will engage in storytelling, character development, and stagecraft, all while delving into traditional and lesser-known fairy tales from Sri Lanka.

The goal is to create a fun and enriching environment where children can express their creativity and learn about different cultures through the lens of fairy tales, By exploring stories from around the world, including the vibrant and diverse fairytales from Sri Lanka, we hope to foster a love for storytelling and theatre in our young participants.

In addition to enhancing their acting skills, students will gain confidence, teamwork experience, and an appreciation for cultural diversity. Each session will focus on a different story, with children having the chance to bring characters and scenes to life through imaginative play and performance exercises.
