Case 4: Inadequate Irrigation Inadequate irrigation, as indicated by your IoTrack graph, can hinder crops' growth and efficiency. If soil moisture levels rise above the minimum threshold but drop again before nearing the maximum, your irrigation duration or amount needs to be increased. While less critical than persistent under-watering, this still causes slowed growth and root development issues, preventing optimal farming efficiency. This imbalance between transpiration and water absorption hampers nutrient transport from roots to leaves, reducing plant growth and yield.     In the pursuit of maximizing agricultural efficiency, even minor missteps in irrigation can significantly impact crop health and yield. As the third case of our "Irrigation Inefficiencies" series, we explore how crop stress affects yield and quality. Case 3: Stressed Crop   Water stress from under-irrigation can severely harm your crops. Filiz and IoTrack improve crop management by delivering real-time soil and weather data, optimizing irrigation, and increasing yields. If your IoTrack graph shows values consistently below the minimum soil moisture threshold, your plants need to receive more water. This stress reduces photosynthetic activity and can cause significant biochemical and physiological damage, inhibiting growth and reducing yield. Insufficient irrigation also negatively impacts flower and fruit set, quality, and overall product durability. Frequent irrigation can harm crop development and inflate irrigation costs.
