Armie Hammer Exits Godfather-Themed Limited Series at Paramount+
Just when he thought he was in, they pulled him back out!
Armie Hammer has reportedly dropped out of Paramount+’s forthcoming limited series The Offer, which chronicles the making of the iconic Oscar-winning film The Godfather.
The 10-episode drama, written by Michael Tolkin (Escape From Dannemora), is told from the perspective of film producer Al Ruddy (previously played by Hammer, who was also set to serve as an executive producer on the series).
Hammer’s apparent exit, first reported by our sister pub Variety, comes as the actor finds himself mired in scandal after a number of unverified, sexually explicit Instagram direct messages allegedly belonging to him were leaked online. Earlier this month it was announced that Hammer also exited the upcoming Jennifer Lopez romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding.
Prior to his big-screen roles in movies such as Call Me by Your Name and The Social Network, Hammer appeared in episodes of Gossip Girl, Veronica Mars and Reaper.
TVLine has reached out to reps for Hammer and the soon-to-launch Paramount+ for comment.
Jesus Christ. Did we ever find out if all these scandal nonsense was even real???? Cause at this point unless he comes forward and says he it’s all true I’m not believing anybody. Hopefully he stops leaving stuff cause I want to see him in Call Me By Your Name 2. Anyone else and not watching cause him and Timothée had such amazing chemistry. This all just seems so stupid. Nothing’s wrong with me. I’m just not blind to the reality that eating live or recently killed animals has gone on and does go on on a regular enough basis to be considered a not unnatural practice.

First, I didn’t say that I did it. Just that it’s not unheard of. Second, not all animals are your fluffy little kitty cat, Snuffles. I know that it’s more difficult due to Covid but, you should try getting out of your mom’s basement and enter the real world sometimes. You’ll find that there are all kinds of practices that are considered normal that you may find unappealing. It doesn’t make them wrong. Just different.
Only a truly heinous person could endorse and normalize animal cruelty and murder. Disgusting.

Unless this guy has committed an actual crime, This online cyberbullying crap needs to stop. Because that’s what cancel culture is — cyber bullying. People are just afraid to call it that. If any of this is true, he could just be into some really weird kinks and fetishes. But if he hasn’t committed any crime, any *verified* crime, he doesn’t deserve what’s happening to him right now. This sort of stuff is why social media is toxic. It allows online mobs to form and destroy people…and for some reason we as a society are condoning it. Apparently he comes from a rich family, so if he loses his acting jobs he’s going to be fine, but that still doesn’t make it right. Because as of right now it’s just rumor-mongering.
Don’t worry, he’s not going to prison. But no one *owes* him a job… and most Hollywood contracts have morality clauses.

Personally, I’m not terribly sympathetic when it comes to self-inflicted wounds.
It’s the principle of the thing though. Not just this particular case, but cancel culture as a whole. This keeps happening to people, fueled mostly by rumors. And it’s just not right. It simply isn’t. Stuff needs to be verified first. Because this really is just cyberbullying under a different name. It shouldn’t be condoned. People are bored, and he’s just the latest in a long line of targets, it seems.
You’re decrying cyber bullying, but real life bullying and psychological abuse isn’t necessarily a crime either, y’know? Maybe he’s not a certified criminal, but if even a hint of what’s out there is true, he’s clearly crossed the line of basic human decency. Kinks and fetishes aren’t an excuse for inhumane or terrorizing behavior towards a romantic partner. If there’s zero truth to it, I hope he clears his name. But there hasn’t been a strong refutation of the allegations from his camp, as far as I’m aware, besides a vulgar statement calling them, “bull***t.” If the claims are seriously false, it would behoove him to go on record, in person. And if there’s even a hint of truth, he should own it and openly seek psychological support. But he’s done neither, just going bunker mode instead. I don’t claim to know what that means in regards to the veracity of the scandal, but from a PR perspective it isn’t good.

I will not feel comfortable watching him in any project from this point forward. He’s a psycho and if I were an actress, I wouldn’t be comfortable on set for him. I can only assume JLo felt the same way and used her star power to get him kicked off of the film they were supposed to be in together.

This was NOT just texts, several women have come forward at this point and specifically used the word rape in real interactions they had. He consulted a doctor to see if he could have a girlfriends bottom two ribs removed. He cut an A into a woman’s pelvic area with a knife without her consent. He choked a woman with a belt clasped around her neck without her consent. He shot a deer and carved out its heart and ate it. He messaged girls as young as 16. And yes, I believe the women.
He’s not an accountant. He doesn’t work for a bank. This is a public medium he CHOSE, he needs to be ready for the consequences. He even said in one text exchange “I just wish I could be caught and it could all be out in public.” Well guess what Armie Boy, dream come true.
He should just take the rest of the year off and clear his name if that’s even possible.
His aunt, Casey Hammer, wrote a memoir “Surviving my Birthright” in which she describes the atrocities and abuse of growing up Hammer. She even accused her father and Armie’s father (her brother) of raping her.

Armie Hammer is certainly an adequate actor. However, he seems to get in his own way and never reaches the level he is aiming for in Hollywood.
His reported personal life calls into question if a company should even invest in him. Regardless, he has plenty of $ and will continue down the path he chooses. Just not sure I want to go down that road watching him.
I like him because he is a good actor, I don’t care about his personal life. He is a damn good actor and no matter what happened, he is still good in every character he portrayed in the movie. I love you Hammer!! Chin up!!
