With the January transfer window in full flow our Director of Sports Science, Richard Felton-Thomas, had the opportunity to discuss our on-going talent identification work with Chelsea Football Club and Burnley Football Club. To be viewed as one of the companies that "have fuelled the most significant technological advancements in the sports industry over the past year" is something we are very proud of. The article focuses on the way our technology is transforming scouting and providing greater opportunity for players of all backgrounds from across the world. Highlights include: the way the aiScout app is democratising football; the work we’re doing with Chelsea Football Club, Burnley Football Club and Reliance Foundation Young Champs ; the impending roll-out with Major League Soccer; and how AI is working in tandem with human scouts. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting FourFourTwo Magazine for an immersive day at our cutting-edge performance analysis Lab (aiLabs). Our state-of-the-art facility is currently situated at the Chelsea Football Club training ground in Cobham. The Four Four Two team had the unique opportunity to experience the Lab's state-of-the-art technology. They also delved into how aiScout is being utilised globally by Clubs & organisations to identify & enhance talent, while gaining a comprehensive insight into Chelsea FC's incorporation of our technology to optimise their recruitment processes. Guiding them through the day was our very own Director of Sports Science & COO, Richard Felton-Thomas. At the prestigious #DataIQAwards held last night, we proudly clinched not one, but two remarkable accolades, with one standing out as the most coveted of the evening! WINNERS - Grand Prix Award: This esteemed accolade is bestowed upon the highest-scoring candidate across all award categories, crowning us as the epitome of excellence for the night. WINNERS - Most Innovative Use of AI Award: In a fierce competition that included globally recognised organisations such as Burberry, Meta x Ekimetrics, Network Rail x Amey Consulting, RAPP, Smith Institute x National Grid ESO, Thales, The Guardian, and The Very Group, we emerged victorious, claiming the title for the most innovative use of AI. The judging team, led by Paul Chapman of JLL, consisted of data leaders from internationally recognised brands such as ITV, British Airways, UK Ministry of Defence, News UK, Universal Music Group, amongst others. It was amazing to hear some of the judges’ comments:   “Amazing product. Almost unbelievable in its sophistication”   “Interesting use of AI for a real-world issue. I can see this being extended…. Real innovation that brings the subject to the platform and then the data to the clients to optimise end-to-end. Brilliant!” Congratulations to all nominees and winners on the night – we were honoured to be surrounded by such elite innovation and talent. This triumph marks a monumental milestone for us at ai.io and aiScout. We can’t wait for what’s to come….
