AmSafe Bridport have arrived at Farnborough International Airshow 2024. Looking forward to a productive day with Corey Taylor, Fayaz Sadiq and Jo Mason

Work experience and what it means to us... Over the past year, we have welcomed many students onsite to explore what we do here at AmSafe Bridport. For the students' it is often a time when they feel a bit anxious about being in a formal work environment for the first time, but we pride ourselves on being a friendly bunch and soon make them feel at ease! One of the success factors is that their schedule is always planned in meticulous detail in advance. No day is wasted and their full timetable will include time spent in a variety of departments including HR, Marketing, Contracts, Quality & Supply, IT, Engineering, Logistics, and then finally into our Bridport production facility to get hands-on. We have welcomed 8 young adults over the past 7 months to complete a full week of work experience with us, in addition to the 6 Student STEM Ambassadors we supported from Colyton Grammar School with their environmental research project. Which equates to well over 2 months of the year so far with a student learning onsite. Our staff are genuinely happy to give up their time to educate this next generation of workers and the benefits of engaging with students as they begin to explore potential future career paths is extremely rewarding for us as a company. We have a strong tradition of employing students post-degree in our graduate placement scheme, with a very high number of them still with the company one or two decades later in executive positions that credit their valued experience. Here at AmSafe Bridport, we will continue to support students on their educational pathway and route into employment across all areas of the business. This role would suit either an experienced Technical Author with knowledge of a similar industry or alternatively may be suitable for a recent graduate looking for a career in the aerospace/engineering industry and with an interest in developing their skills and knowledge to progress their career with support from the organisation. Candidates will preferably be educated to a Degree level in any discipline, although the role ideally requires an educational standard to HNC in Engineering or equivalent. Key skills will be an eye for detail, excellent written English, the ability to articulate meaning through text and a willingness to learn. Previous relevant experience is not necessary, although any experience gained from published articles, freelance work or writing competitions may be helpful. Honouring the D-Day Heroes on the 80th Anniversary #DDay80 Today, we at AmSafe Bridport join the world in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. On June 6th, 1944, Allied forces launched a daring offensive that marked a turning point in World War II. As they set off in the early hours of D-Day, they received a message from the commander of all D-Day Land Forces, Britain’s General Bernard Montgomery. It contained these words:   “To us is given the honour of striking a blow for freedom which will live in history and in the better days that lie ahead men will speak with pride of our doings.” It does live in history, their bravery helped pave the way for the liberation of Europe. We will always remember and honour the immense courage and sacrifice of the soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy.
