    ⌚ A great time saver for #educators is the ability to export and import content between spaces in Aula. However, it's still necessary to review the #content before the beginning of the classes as a way to align with your current audience. Groups of students are never the same, and it may be necessary to adapt some sections of your materials to a given group. Reviewing is also a healthy habit to ensure accuracy, as some pieces of information may change over time. ✍ #OnlineLearning #HigherEd

    Students learn best when they're both cognitively and effectively engaged, and #TeacherPresence 🙋♂️ is paramount to achieve such #engagement. But how can you present yourself socially and academically when you have multiple modules running, lots of students, and a more-than-busy schedule? We have 3 fundamental tips to share on that: 👉 Show a bit more of yourself; 👉 Set boundaries (learn how to set your own status in Aula 😉) 👉 Post and respond regularly about the module topic but also about relevant topics not necessarily within the #LearningMaterials.     🖼 Overcoming the fear of the blank canvas Creating a teaching page in a platform from scratch can be a daunting task. After all, what should come first: a video, a file, just text? Are there any rules at all, or can I be creative? 🤔 Some institutions may choose to upload templates to Aula spaces in order to make this process quicker and less intimidating. Perhaps you've even created your own template to use in the spaces you teach!     🎥 Cameras on = Engagement? Camera-on policies for #OnlineLearning in institutions often originate from a desire to #connect with students. However, learners might not always feel comfortable or safe appearing on camera and revealing their surroundings for various reasons like disclosing their social status, cultural or religious matters, etc. Moreover, even when students are on camera we cannot ensure they're engaged. 🤷♂️ #Engagement and attention are variable and don’t look the same for everyone. Encouraging students to be on camera, but allowing them to make that decision tends to be a good approach. CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology)'s Universal Design for Learning - https://lnkd.in/dHCgyy2J - supports flexibility when working with students in synchronous online sessions, and in the document below you'll find ways - that don't depend on students switching cameras on 💪 - to leverage engagement in online classes.

    🤔 How clear is it that students' feedback on the course is acted on? Students' perception that their feedback is taken seriously builds an environment of trust and transparency in #HigherEducation. According to the #NationalStudentSurvey data by Office for Students, only 63% of students would say their feedback is clearly acted on. Ensuring students know the institution is working on their #feedback is just as important as the improvements that will be implemented. There are two critical factors for success here: 👉 Speed - changes based on students' feedback should be implemented as soon as possible, either as small #changes that take place little by little or as pilot programs to be further refined. 👉 Ongoing Loop - creating an ongoing feedback loop provides the institution with regular feedback opportunities and provides the students with systematic updates on their ideas and suggestions. https://lnkd.in/dnMgXa7h
