🚀 We’re thrilled to announce that our M77 Hydrogen project is now live! This is a groundbreaking step towards establishing Scotland’s first construction hydrogen hub, where we’ll be showcasing the potential of hydrogen technology for heavy machinery. With the help of our amazing partners, ULEMCo Ltd, Logan Energy Limited, PlusZero Ltd and support from the The Scottish Government, we’ve already retrofitted three vehicles and set up hydrogen supply and refuelling infrastructure. 🎥 Timelapse footage of a major construction operation where we've just moved a 1,600 tonne steel and concrete bridge into place in just five hours for HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd
In a five-hour operation, the new 1,600 tonne Aston Church Road bridge was moved over existing railway tracks in Birmingham. The 84 metre long and 21 metre wide bridge, was moved over the existing Birmingham to Derby railway line and will also sit above the new HS2 tracks as high speed trains travel in and out of Birmingham. Starting at 10pm on Saturday 10 August, it took five hours for the team to move the bridge into place, reaching its final position at 3am on Sunday morning. The operation was delivered by our main works contractor in the Midlands, Balfour Beatty VINCI and their specialist bridge move contractor Mammoet, during a Network Rail blockade. 🚧 We're excited to share that Balfour Beatty has begun constructing the Clearmount footbridge near M25 Junction 10. This 61m steel bridge will provide a safe route for pedestrians, cyclists, and horse-riders over one of the UK's busiest motorways. 🌉 Once installed, the bridge will be 61m long, 4.3m wide, and 2.6m high, weighing over 130 tonnes.
