Generative AI, machine learning and increasing demand for data, connectivity and cloud-based services is driving unprecedented levels of demand from hyperscale and other large customers for data centres and the supporting connectivity ecosystem. New data centres are being constructed and densification and optimisation projects at existing data centres are being undertaken to meet this demand. Institutional investors are seeking exposure to this demand – in particular the predicted AI revolution - through investments in data centre infrastructure. Our latest thought leadership explores the current trends and highlights some key legal issues relevant to data centre development, operation, financing and investment. This NAIDOC Week, we have celebrated the theme Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud & Proud across our Australian offices. Keep the Fire Burning! celebrates the unyielding spirit of our communities and invites all to stand together. Through our collective efforts, we can forge a future where the stories, traditions, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are cherished and celebrated, enriching the fabric of the nation with the oldest living culture in the world. In Warrane (Sydney) we thank GO Foundation - The Goodes O'Loughlin Foundation Scholar, Aurielle Smith for the live music, as we learnt more about the Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation, as they create opportunities for First Nations young people. In Narrm (Melbourne) we thank Ngiyampaa man and singer-songwriter Pirritu (Brett Lee), who joined us to share his music and storytelling. In Meeanjin (Brisbane) we thank Birrunga Gallery for hosting us at the Annual NAIDOC Week Walking Breakfast. In Boorloo (Perth) we thank Belinda Cox from Djirrily Dreaming for teaching us the healing power of ancient traditions and Justin Martin the past and present Noongar history of the Swan River. Also enjoying sweet treats from Just Because Cookies and Cakes. We extend our deepest appreciation to the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we operate. We express our gratitude for their wisdom, custodianship, and enduring connection to Country. #NAIDOC2024 #NAIDOCWeek #BlakLoudProud
