Farming, Family, Therapy, Legacy - a charity helping vulnerable young people at risk of social and academic exclusion.

Über uns

Jamie’s Farm acts as a catalyst for change, enabling young people to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We do this through a unique residential experience and rigorous follow-up programme, combining ‘family, farming, therapy and legacy'. To date, we have worked with over 6,000 young people and demonstrated significant improvements in self-esteem, engagement and behaviour, in addition to softer skills such as resilience, grit and motivation. We are also having a positive impact on the way educational professionals work with young people displaying challenging behaviour in schools, and disseminating our wider methodology to impact children who have never even visited the farm. During their stay, children are involved with the daily running of our five working livestock farms, near Bath, Hereford, Monmouth, East Sussex and Skipton, enjoying seasonal activities from lambing to hay making, in addition to helping with the preparation of meals, gardening, carpentry, log chopping, horse care, art and participating in a daily walk. The week is also punctuated by 1:1 and group sessions. Please visit our website to read more, where you can also download out latest impact report: jamiesfarm.org.uk/about-us/our-impact We are eager to hear from organisations, trusts and business who would like to support Jamie’s Farm. If you are seeking a new charity of the year, looking for a unique location for your team away days, have a grant application process, goods to donate or time to volunteer – we would love to hear from you. Please contact: [email protected] and someone in the team will be able to help.

We’re thrilled to see the Empathy Programme launching in schools this September! What an incredible achievement by the Empathy Studios and Empathy Week teams! 🚀 With school communities facing challenges around engagement, behaviour and mental well-being, the timing is pertinent. Programmes like this are essential when the need has never been greater. At Jamie’s Farm, we know that building empathy is key to helping young people thrive. In our safe and supportive environment, we encourage our visitors to connect with others, understand different perspectives and form meaningful relationships. Through hands-on activities, such as caring for animals, working out on the farm and sharing daily meals, young people learn to consider the needs and feelings of others. These experiences deepen their understanding of empathy, a cornerstone of their personal growth. We can’t wait to see the positive impact the Empathy Programme will have in schools!

This is more important than ever and we're so close to launch 🚀 Our latest Empathy Programme is almost live and now available all year around and FROM September. No longer do schools have to wait till mid-way through the academic year. Keep your eyes peeled for our latest insights and research in collaboration with University of Cambridge coming out on 28th August too 😎 Into it's 5th year, the programme helps schools deliver a whole-school approach to empathy building that has clear actions, doesn't require planning or extra work from teachers and has research-backed tangible outcomes: 💪🏼❤️ Improved behaviour 🧠 Boost in Self-esteem 💡 Increased perspectives. If you want to book a call please message my amazing colleague Sarah Giokabari (our schools lead) who can arrange a meeting and we can showcase how the programme can work in your school. #empathy #humanskills #SEL #Futureofeducation #education #educationreform #socialemotional Katie Myriam Nilema Julie Jim Alison Prof Dr Ger Gavin Helen Larisa Alex Will Marion Asha Vincent Robin Lipa Claire Laura Rachel Sam Samantha Katie Charlotte Jaime Ian Rachael Dr Claire Chloe Marina Anton Helen Robin Laura Stephan Mikaela Sean Iain

We're celebrating the heart of British farming this #Farm24 💚 Let's take the time to appreciate and support the vital role agriculture plays in our communities and society whole. Through our therapeutic work with young people, we connect individuals not only to their abilities, achievements and skills, but also to the land - inspiring the next generation. Now that we've shown you a little bit of what we get up to on our farms, take the time to look through the #Farm24 campaign to better understand the vast work and care that goes into producing the food we eat in the UK. #BritishFarming
