To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of our Florence shop we pay tribute to our Italian suppliers. ‘I have always chosen to work with specialist manufacturers and weavers. Italy has an innate understanding of make and quality that is unique to our industry. Having worked with many of our Italian suppliers for over 25 years, opening a production office and shop in Florence has enabled us to build stronger relationships and to showcase their craft.’ – MARGARET HOWELL The Florence shop will showcase photographs of a curated selection of Italian-made pieces from the Margaret Howell archive. GEORGE DANNATT PAINTINGS & DRAWINGS 1969 – 2007 FRIDAY 07 JUNE – SUNDAY 30 JUNE 34 WIGMORE STREET, LONDON W1 An exhibition of works by British artist George Dannatt (1915 – 2009) offering a rare glimpse into his connection with nature, and remarkable mastery of colour, texture, and balance. Dannatt, was born in Blackheath, London, and became an outstanding and inspirational figure in the story of the later St Ives School. He represented a rare breed of cultural polymath: musician, critic, practising artist, connoisseur, and collector of modern art. Dannatt’s career as an artist spanned more than 50 years producing a solid oeuvre of abstract painting inspired by, and in concert with, the St Ives Modernists whose work he so admired. https://lnkd.in/edM_SeZz

Our company has always taken seriously its duty to the environment, and to the people who play a role in making our clothing. From the beginning, Margaret Howell's concept has been to make good quality clothes that last. Starting as a very small enterprise we were acutely aware of the need to control costs and avoid waste. As we have grown over the years we have maintained a small company ethos which means that each of our staff owns responsibility for our viability. We are all aware that sustainability is not solely a company issue, but a global one. Our 2022 Sustainability Report outlines progress against our commitments, the challenges we face and our next steps.
