👋 Say hello to Rhiannon Boss, Fuels Administrator at London City Airport (LCY), UK. Rhiannon’s wide-ranging role has evolved since she started at Menzies in March 2023. “I’ve been fortunate to take part in external and internal training, which has changed my role as I’ve gained new skills and more experience,” Rhiannon explains.👩🏫 “Being new to aviation, working at LCY has given me a perfect introduction to the industry,” Rhiannon comments. “It was a little dauting at first being the only woman in a male-dominated environment, but from the very start I was made to feel really welcome.” For Rhiannon, it’s the varied nature of her work which makes Menzies a special place to work. “Everyday is memorable, exciting and new. I look forward to coming in, working as part of a team, learning new things and having a laugh along the way. At the end of each day, I know that I have done something worthwhile and positive for myself and the business.” 💙 Away from LCY, Rhiannon enjoys spending time with her two sons and family, reading, walking, listening to music and sampling decent food! “It’s the simple things in life we take for granted most,” she says. This summer, teams working across a variety of locations have helped athletes travel to and from Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics. 🏃♀️ Among them were our Menzies Portugal colleagues, who welcomed the Portuguese Olympic team back home having handled the return flight from Paris. Congratulations to the Portuguese Olympians, who brought home four medals – including one gold. 🥇 In Sweden, our team at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport (ARN) ensured that pole vaulter Armand Duplantis safely boarded his flight to Paris, where he not only won gold but broke a world record by clearing 6.25m! Colleagues at ARN expertly helped Armand through check-in and made sure that his special baggage – two five-metre-long pole vault poles – was loaded onto the Air France flight. 👏 Thank you to our teams in Portugal, Sweden and across the world for helping to make this year’s competition a success! #MenziesAviation #PeoplePassionPride #ARN #Portugal #Olympics2024

👋 Say hello to Ancuta Teodorescu, Service Delivery Manager at Iași International Airport (IAS) in Romania. Ancuta joined Menzies Aviation as a Passenger Service Agent over eight years ago and has since been promoted to Service Delivery Manager. In her day-to-day role, Ancuta is responsible for ensuring that the quality of service provided by Menzies meets a high standard. Reflecting on her favourite moments at Menzies, Ancuta says: “There’s a real sense of anticipation watching the sun rise over aircrafts on the ramp at the start of the day. Equally, at the end of the day, there is a satisfaction to working hard as a team to ensure the safe and timely departure of a day’s flights.” 🌇 With IAS being located right on the border with Moldova, Ancuta’s recounts her most memorable period at Menzies, helping refugees cross the border into Romania. “Things changed overnight, it was truly humbling to welcome refugees into Romania.” 💙  Outside of work, Ancuta unwinds by visiting new places and going on mountain hikes. ⛰ Thank you, Ancuta for your unwavering dedication to excellent customer service! 👏 #MenziesAviation #PeoplePassionPride #MyMenzies

We’re very proud of a group of Menzies colleagues who recently completed a swimathon, raising thousands for a very worthy cause. 🏊♂️ Seven employees based at airports in Romania swam over 3,000 metres between them at the Otopeni Swimming Complex – equivalent to the length of 41 Airbus A380s. ✈️ This impressive effort was in aid of a programme called ‘One Village, One Child,’ which offers educational support to gifted children from disadvantaged backgrounds. We’d like to congratulate Sergiu Todoran, Lucian Conon, Dan Moiceanu, Mihaila Mircea, Cristian Ionescu, Dumitru Negoita and Otava Razvan, who between them raised €2,000 for this life-changing initiative. Recently, our Portuguese colleagues supported EGYPTAIR as the airline completed its first direct flight between Cairo International Airport (CAI) and Lisbon Airport (LIS) in over a decade. 📅 The Egyptian flag carrier resumed direct flights after a 13-year hiatus, with Menzies delivering ground handling services for the airline. Flights between the two cities will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with frequency set to increase in the winter. 👋 Say hello to Gerry Duffett, Cargo Systems Manager at Heathrow Airport (LHR) who this month celebrates an extraordinary milestone: 35 years at Menzies Aviation. “My driving force over the last 35 years is to ensure cargo has the focus and recognition it deserves, and to make our systems the market leader,” Gerry says. “We focus a lot on aircraft turns and passenger numbers, but as we found during Covid, cargo is an important part of our business.” 📦 Looking back at his impressive tenure at Menzies, Gerry’s career highlight is seeing the Menzies Aviation Cargo Handling (MACH) cargo management system going live. “I have many highlights to choose from but witnessing MACH going live for the first time has to top the list,” Gerry explains. “The system started life on a single presentation in a workshop, and 10 months later was supporting cargo movements across the world.” “35 years ago, I started a warehouse job in an industry I knew nothing about. Now, I’m running projects and implementing systems around the world.
