Volunteering Day with Launch Foods 🚀✨ Yesterday, Liz Mulgrew and Elle McCandlish from the News Scotland team had the opportunity to spend a day volunteering with Launch Foods, a remarkable Glasgow-based organisation that has been making a significant impact since 2018. Launch Foods provides free, healthy, and nutritious meals to primary children in need, and their commitment to ensuring that no child in Scotland goes to bed hungry is truly inspiring. To date, Launch Foods has served over 750,000 meals, not just nourishing young minds and bodies but also making the process fun and engaging 🫱🏻🫲🏿 We witnessed first-hand the difference that Launch Foods is making in the lives of countless children in Glasgow and the broader community. Their dedication and belief in the cause are touching and motivating. We are incredibly grateful for the experience. A huge thank you to the entire Launch Foods team for their unwavering dedication and for allowing us to be a part of their journey. I recently had the pleasure of speaking to Alessandro De Zanche on his 'Not Just ADZ' podcast series. Alessandro is a great advocate for the publishing industry who shares the view that digital minimalism, a relentless focus on UX, a considered approach to consent and respectful handling of customer data are the principles that will distinguish publishers that successfully navigate the changing landscape. I predict many future stars. It was a pleasure to give a little talk about opportunities at News UK, and talk a bit about careers in digital publishing.
