A wonderful day celebrating great successes with our Class of 2024. Well done to all of them and to the teachers and other staff that supported them on their journey.

Huge congratulations to alumna Jo Slota-Newson (Class of 2002) who recently swam the English Channel solo 🏊♀️ Jo swam overnight from England to France, completing her swim in just over 15 hours. An incredible achievement, as fewer people have swum the channel than have climbed Mount Everest! Jo says: "I had always imagined swimming the channel, but it only became a plan a couple of years ago when I started to wonder if it might actually be possible, The swim took 15 hours - the first seven in the dark, bumping into jellyfish, and the next eight swimming through deep fog, meaning we couldn't see the coast of France until we nearly bumped into it. It was a really tough swim!" Jo is raising money for Aspire, who provide practical help to people who have been paralysed by a spinal cord injury. We are delighted to have been highly commended in two of the categories in this year’s Muddy Stilettos School Awards! It seems fitting that during #NationalSportsWeek we gained a Highly Commended accreditation for being ‘Passionate About Sport’. It is also fitting that we received our second Highly Commended accreditation for ‘Most Inclusive School’ as we celebrated Pride Day in school on Friday with a picnic lunch on the Big Pitch. #NorwichHighSchoolforGirls #MadebyGirls #GDST

Congratulations to Norwich High School for Girls alumnae and former Governor Dr Belinda Clarke made OBE in King Charles III’s Birthday Honours list! Director of Agri-TechE, Belinda has been awarded an OBE for her ‘services to agri-technologies and farming. Belinda attended Norwich High between 1978 and 1988 before studying Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge. She also has a PhD in Plant Biochemistry. https://lnkd.in/endn9wRM Alison Sefton

For those of you that were at school in the mid 60's through to 1981 you may remember Mrs McDougall (pictured below). Very sadly we have been told by her daughter that she has passed away. For anyone wanting to attend her Funeral it will be on Friday the 21st of June at 2:30pm at Stiffkey Church NR23 1QJ.

Thank you to everyone who came to our alumnae reunion on Saturday! It was wonderful to see so many of you catching up with old friends, exploring the school and reminiscing on school memories. A special shout out to those who travelled far to join us - especially our alumna who came all the way from Denmark! My theme is "No Head is an island" - open to interpretation but I will be looking at the importance of seeking the knowledge of experts, knowing the strengths of your team and the power of mentoring, coaching and collaboration.
