The new school year is coming, and whether your child is going in as a nervous first timer or seasoned pro, it can still feel like a lonely place. If your child is starting a new school, has had to move school, or is struggling to make friends, the resulting loneliness can be a big drain on their mental health. You could encourage them to talk to an adult that they feel safe with. This can help them to see things differently, give them new ideas about how to cope, and could help change things. We know the world of gaming can be confusing for parents and carers. And the thought of discussing with their child how long they spend online can feel overwhelming. . . or even a little scary 😧 Childline has lots of advice available on what to do if a young person’s gaming habit is becoming an addiction, as well as tips on playing safely online: https://bit.ly/3Wx3Sw4 #NSPCCParenting Image description: A cartoon depicting two people: one adult standing with a perplexed expression and a speech bubble that says "I thought Fortnite was the name of the game, not the average playing time?"
