The countdown to #ClimateWeekNYC is in full swing and this week, our attention turns to industrial decarbonisation. Accounting for 15% of global emissions, we have a responsibility to tackle emissions from steel and concrete making. The impact of climate change is already being felt globally – and our window of opportunity to limit its devastating effects by driving deep emissions reductions is now. It's Time to drive the industry transition. The good news is, we're seeing signs of progress. But we need to ramp it up, with every investment, policy, and business decision laser-focused towards #netzero steel and concrete. Over the last fortnight, we've had a lot going on... ⭕ We opened up virtual registration for anyone to attend the biggest climate event of the year ⭕ We started preparing for a whole day of events for states, regions and cities as part of the Subnational Climate Action Leaders’ Exchange (SCALE) on 25 September in New York ⭕ Our #Under2Coalition Future Fund announced support for three new projects in Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia ⭕ We invited climate leaders to a Net Zero Steel Forum in Mumbai early next month to accelerate steel decarbonisation in India ⭕ We shared exciting updates on the first ever Climate Film Festival, being hosted during the opening weekend of Climate Week NYC ⭕ Siemens USA’s CEO Barbara Humpton sat down with us to talk technology and how crucial it is to drive #climateaction, ahead of their participation in #ClimateWeekNYC.
