Über uns

#TOGETHERBAND is brought to you by the British luxury sustainable brand BOTTLETOP, co-founded by Cameron Saul and Oliver Wayman, and driven by COO Jonathan Lee with the diverse, talented team based in London. Our aim is to bring together one billion active citizens to achieve the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. With end to end positive impact, #TOGETHERBAND represents these ideals and each band embodies the spirit of the Global Goals. The materials protect our planet’s resources and support NGOs. The making generates sustainable employment for Nepalese artisans, and 100% of the funds generated go towards projects that further the advancement of the Global Goals. In addition, #TOGETHERBAND also functions as a unique media and partnership platform to deliver bespoke, high impact campaigns for corporate partners to promote their work and communicate with stakeholders around their sustainability agendas.

As we navigate an increasingly complex world, it is evident that the crises we face are not isolated events but the consequences of deep-rooted systemic issues, some of which have been intensified by current business practices. However, businesses also hold the potential to be a pivotal part of the solution. Whether you’re leading a company or part of a team, your influence matters. By engaging your organisation to take action, you can multiply your impact and help drive the change we so urgently need. Just 12% of the UN Sustainable Development Goals are currently on track, and time is running out to achieve this global shift. In the build-up to Climate Week, Togetherband is doubling your positive impact for every band sold this month. For any successful referral to a business that makes a purchase, we will also send you a Together Product of your choice. Got a question or ready to get started? Please email [email protected] to discuss how we can elevate your company’s sustainability commitments. #sdgs #sustainabledevelopmentgoals #globalgoals #climateweek

Today is International Day of the World’s Indigenous People, a day to celebrate and recognise Indigenous Communities around the world. We can’t protect the planet without the traditional knowledge and sustainable agriculture practices of Indigenous peoples. When their collective rights to lands and territories are protected, forests thrive, alongside their societies. The survival of these communities is crucial to the protection of our planet and it is a huge loss to our world if they cease to exist. We could not be more proud to partner with the Yawanawá Indigenous community on our Yawa #TOGETHER collection, which supports the expression of their culture and way of life with a Rainforest Workshop & Atelier. Handcrafted by members of the Yawanawá in the Brazilian Amazon, the Yawa #TOGETHERBAND is a physical symbol – a seed of hope – that we can keep and wear, to preserve and protect the natural world and help inspire us to take action. It's #PlasticFreeJuly! Today, we produce over 300 million tonnes of plastic waste every year. That equates to the weight of nearly the entire human population! Even worse, nearly half of that is single-use plastic and a whopping 91% of the world’s plastic still isn’t recycled. Instead, it ends up in landfill, being burnt, littering our countryside or polluting our oceans. For every foot of coastline around the world, there’s the equivalent of five grocery bags of plastic waste, endangering wildlife and releasing harmful microplastics into our seas. One innovative company Parley for the Oceans has found a brilliant way to tackle the issue, so we were thrilled to partner with them for some genius recycling. Every #TOGETHERBAND rope is made from 100% Parley Ocean Plastic®️, created from plastic waste intercepted by Parley from remote islands, shorelines, waters and coastal communities.

Happy #EarthDay! 🌍 🌱🌊 The #TOGETHERBAND campaign started on Earth Day 2019, and today we turn FIVE!! It's been an extraordinary journey. From creating ateliers with artisans in Kathmandu and the Amazon rainforest to staging global events and building a family of Ambassadors and members of the public; all sharing personal stories about why the UN Sustainable Development Goals - our route map for a healthy planet - matter. In the process we have planted 45,950 trees, provided 173,137 meals, cleared 155, 207 kilos of ocean plastic, funded 253,769 hours of artisan craftsmanship, recycled over 1 tonne of illegal firearm metal and distributed over $2m projects advancing the Goals on the ground. None of it could have been possible without your support. But the fight for a healthy planet doesn’t stop. With the escalating climate crisis, inequality, loss of biodiversity, and the wars being experienced by communities around the world it seems like the 17 SDGs are being pushed further and further from our collective reach, but #TOGETHER we still have the power to change our current trajectory. Let's talk about all that #SDG15: Life on Land has to offer: Forests sustain life as we know it. Forests cover nearly 31% of the land on Earth and are home to 80% of all life on land. Palm oil can be found in nearly 50% of packaged products. Sadly its production has been and continues to be a major driver of deforestation of some of the world's most biodiverse areas. Other ecosystems are disappearing. We lose 12 million hectares of land each year due to drought and desertification. That's 23 hectares of land every minute. There's still hope but at a price. The UN Forum of Forests Secretariat estimates the cost of achieving sustainable forest management globally at US $70-160 billion... annually. However, it would be money well spent. Rather astonishingly, insects and other pollen carriers are said to be worth more than $200 billion to the global economy each year, and 75% of major prescription drugs are derived from plants that would be threatened. Life on land is extraordinary. Our forests are home to more than 80% of all land-based species and our remarkable ecosystems allow us all to eat, breathe and live. Yet through deforestation, global warming and meat production, we’re slowly killing our earth and its inhabitants. Before we panic, it’s worth reminding ourselves that we can fix this. Join us and show your support for Goal 15. #TOGETHER we can sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, reverse land degradation and put a stop to biodiversity loss. #sdgs #lifeonland #biodiversity #wildlifeconservation

Today is World Day of Social Justice, a reminder of the significance of social justice for the underprivileged and oppressed. It marks the coming together of people from all walks of life to support the idea of justice, victims’ rights, and most importantly, ensuring no crime that jeopardises peace takes place. In today's interconnected world, it's clear that peace is more critical than ever. From environmental crises to economic disparities and geopolitical tensions, the pursuit of peace becomes imperative for addressing these issues collectively. Peace underpins every single one of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals and is an integral part to #TOGETHERBANDs story. Our signature claps are made from Humanium Metal, an upcycled stainless steel repurposed from destructed illegal firearms, which are seized by local authorities in Central America. By removing guns from the streets, we have a greater opportunity for lasting peace. Join us and help make the world a more peaceful place for everyone. #TOGETHERBAND #WorldSocialJusticeDay #sdgs #peace #justice #sdg16

Dena Igusti is a writer, producer and activist from New York. At the age of nine, they underwent Female Genital Cutting (FGC) – also known as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). The harmful practice is illegal in at least 59 countries, including the UK and the US, and is widely recognised as an abuse of human rights. More than 200 million girls and women alive today have undergone female genital mutilation and this year alone, nearly 4.4 million girls will be at risk of this harmful practice. This equates to more than 12,000 cases every day. Here, Dena shares their brave experience with writer Emma Elms: https://lnkd.in/ekBfXudy FGM is a grave human rights violation and on this #InternationalDayOfZeroToleranceForFGM , we demand world leaders and organisations take serious measures to eradicate this barbaric practice. #EndFGM

At the 54th World Economic Forum, global businesses and government leaders gathered to rebuild trust, generate new ideas, and encourage partnerships to advance solutions to the world's most pressing problems. We were honoured to share the story of our collaboration with the Yawanawá Indigenous culture in the heart of Brazil's Amazon rainforest, where we use craft as a means to generate financial support and share their beautiful artwork with the world. Indigenous peoples represent just 5% of our population globally but protect over 80% of our remaining biodiversity. Indigenous communities are our last line of defense against climate change – to protect our planet, we must protect them. Please join us. Watch Cameron Saul's full presentation “Working in Harmony” to learn more about our project with the Yawanawá and find out how you can get involved : https://lnkd.in/ePZBERdQ. #TOGETHERBAND #AmazonConservation #climateaction
