One in two of us will receive a cancer diagnosis in our lifetime. And our team have seen first-hand the impact that a life-changing diagnosis of cancer has, as well as any treatment that follows. 🏃➡️On 15 September, we are taking steps to #OutRunCancer, taking on a physical challenge to show our support for our incredible team members, friends and families who have been affected by cancer. Accompanied by family and four-legged friends🐕, we will be running or walking either a 5k or 10k trail in a bid to help raise much needed funds for CANCER UNITED. This local charity offers help and support for those living in Sussex whose lives have been affected by a cancer diagnosis. 😍Just look at this impressive owl sculpture🦉 Created by Jina Gelder, it is one of 30 BIG, brilliant, and unique hand-painted owl statues currently nestled in Chichester and Arundel in support of Chestnut Tree House children's hospice. We are very proud to have our name on 'Night Owl' as a sponsor. You can find the owl as part of the charity's #TheBigHoot - a fun and free art trail that is on throughout the summer holidays. What an insightful day yesterday as we gathered some of our sports and media clients, alongside sustainability and travel experts at the London Heathrow Marriott for our sustainable travel event. From air travel to sustainable accommodation and data to driving positive change, we discussed a range of topics aimed at supporting our clients to turn their sustainability goals into reality. A huge thank you 🙏to Marriott International and British Airways for supporting us in holding this event, to Claire Poole for moderating our panel discussion, and the fantastic speakers who took time from their busy schedules to help us all learn, collaborate, discuss and share ideas around sustainable travel. Today we say goodbye to Amelia Rishman who is one of our placement students. Amelia has been with us for a year, in between her second and third year of a degree. Working alongside our experienced team she has gained practical experience in the travel industry and has been a great asset to our team.   Amelia said "I have loved my time at Travel Places, the year has gone too quickly! I have learnt so much about the travel industry and have picked up many skills. I have made memories to last a lifetime along with some of the best friends. I hope to see everyone again soon."   We wish Amelia the best of luck with the remainder of her studies!
