A fun technical side project primarily used for playing with various technologies as they evolve. Based on java web-crawling technologies and cloud services for crawling prominent recipe websites. It uses multiple Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 standards such as Semantic Web and RDF tagging for identifying if a given web page contains a recipe if so is it a vegan or vegetarian recipe and its constituent parts…A recipe search engine for finding Vegan/Vegetarian recipes, a google search pooper.
A fun technical side project primarily used for playing with various technologies as they evolve. Based on java web-crawling technologies and cloud services for crawling prominent recipe websites. It uses multiple Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 standards such as Semantic Web and RDF tagging for identifying if a given web page contains a recipe if so is it a vegan or vegetarian recipe and its constituent parts such as ingredients, preparation times and allergies. Where a website is not conformance, the crawler is customised to use various text analytics tools to figure out if the ingredients are vegan or vegetarian compliance and tagged accordingly.
This project is a mere aggregator. The web app attributes all recipes back to the source.
