The online courses had to appeal to paying customers, rather than captive audiences, so the team devised a series of custom interactions to help engage the learner and immerse them in the material. The new content sets a benchmark and house style for future FPA e-learning and secures their reputation as the market leader in Fire Safety training.

The judges said: "This project retained the creativity that can sometimes be lost in a rapid development and gave the client [The FPA] bite-sized modules it can reuse, along with the methodology to create its own e-learning."

Gold award for an interactive project for Ford Motor Company, to embed their re-brand across the organisation.

The OpenLearn website offers free and open learning educational resources for learners and educators worldwide. Its entry received full marks from the award judges in the area of Expanded Access: Impact on reaching new populations.
