It’s been a rocky start for the Pierson boys basketball team this season, which made last week’s 61-37 win over Greenport all the more satisfying. The Whalers were blown out at Bridgehampton to open the League VIII schedule this year and then lost, 55-46, at Smithtown Christian on December 15.

Lady Whalers Basketball Knock Off East Hampton

It was a good week for Pierson basketball on Coach Petrie Court, which is named for the legendary East Hampton coach who also carries a bit of Whalers history in his heart.

Three days after the boys team knocked off the host Bonackers, the Lady Whalers traveled to East Hampton and left town with a convincing 39-22 victory.
