People are wondering why there is such a large amount of deaths in the Samoa measles outbreak. Below is some commentary on why. Essentially, victims are being taken to hospital when it’s too late, after being "treated" by local “healers” whose treatments don't work.
Doctors are now urging parents to go straight to the hospital with their sick children and not seek treatment from locals.
