Arizona GOP Senate candidate proves crisis at border is an 'invasion'

Arizona Republican Senate candidate and Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb reminded Americans Wednesday that the crisis at the southern border is an invasion by definition.

"I get a lot of people that ask me, 'Sheriff Lamb, are what we seeing, is this an invasion?'" Lamb said in a viral video posted to Twitter. "I always tell them, 'Yes!' I've been saying it for a while. This is an invasion.'"

Using a marker, Lamb proceeded to help his audience define the word "invasion" on a large teaching board.

"Let me give you the definition of an invasion, and then you can decide for yourself, alright," Lamb said.

"The first definition of an invasion is, 'An incursion of a large group of people into a place or sphere of activity,' for example all these crowds you see on TV coming into America, that would by definition qualify."

That is not the only definition, according to Lamb.

"The second is, 'An unwelcome intrusion into another's domain,'" he said. "This is an unwelcome intrusion by so many people coming here illegally into our domain."

"So, by definition, this absolutely is an invasion."

Lamb serves on the "front lines" of the southern border crisis and continuously battles the flood of fentanyl and human trafficking, according to his website.

"We must stop this invasion or we're gonna have big problems," the video concluded.

Lamb has served as Pinal County sheriff since assuming office in 2017 and announced his bid to challenge Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) last month.
