Comer blasts Raskin accusation that House Oversight is being compromised

House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) hit back at ranking member Jamie Raskin's (D-MD) accusation that he was misusing the committee.

In an appearance on the Ingraham Angle on Fox News, Comer dismissed Raskin's accusations as ridiculous, saying he was simply using evidence.

"That’s very disappointing but not surprising," Comer said about the accusations. "The tactic that we are using [on] the House Oversight Committee is we’re using a thing called evidence. And it’s something that Jamie Raskin has no concept of and the Democrat liberal media will not consider."

Raskin appeared on MSNBC's Inside with Jen Psaki on Sunday, where he told Psaki he was concerned that Comer was being co-opted and compromised by a foreign entity.

"I’m just concerned that the House Oversight Committee is suddenly being compromised in a really serious way," he said. "Our legitimacy is being eroded by the tactics adopted by Chairman Comer."

Comer dismissed Raskin's claims, saying there is no "one thing that we produced" that Raskin or former White House press secretary Jen Psaki could point to that "cannot be backed up by facts in the form of hard evidence from bank records and bank violations for the Biden family."

"We have the Bidens’ bank records," he said. "We have bank violations from six different banks that all reported to the Treasury ... that they felt like the Biden family was laundering money through shell companies. They were concerned about the fact that some of these wires they were getting from foreign nationals were from state-owned entities. That means they are from the government, from the Chinese Communist Party."
